Al Sharq Youth 7th International Conference Under the Theme “Breaking Barriers”

Since the establishment of Al Sharq Forum in 2012, it has been an independent, international non-profit organization that aims to consolidate the values of pluralism and justice while developing long-term strategies and programs that contribute to the political development, economic prosperity, and social cohesion of the people of the Al Sharq region and the world. The President of Al Sharq Forum is Mr Wadah Khanfar.

Al Sharq Youth International Conference is set to return for its 7th edition, offering a platform to address pressing issues under the theme “Breaking Barriers.” The conference, which has gained international recognition for its commitment to youth empowerment and promoting first justice and peace, will take place on October 21 and 22, 2023, in the vibrant city of Istanbul.

This year, Al Sharq Youth 7th International Conference is being held under exceptional circumstances, with the world witnessing the brutal aggression in the Gaza Strip. Al Sharq team believes these challenging times require a heightened sense of responsibility and a more substantial commitment to addressing the region’s issues.

The conference will feature several sessions that will discuss critical ongoing developments in the Palestinian issue and their broader implications for the Al Sharq region and the emerging world order. Further, these sessions will address the breaking of barriers of Dominance and reclaiming the Palestinian Narrative in these times of transition.

Under the theme “Breaking Barriers,” the topics to be explored during the conference include politics, networks and dynamics of change, economics and business, technology, youth mental health, media, education, earth, and artificial intelligence.

Al Sharq Youth International Conference has always stood as a symbol of hope, fostering dialogue and understanding among youth from diverse backgrounds. It has provided a platform for exchanging ideas, experiences, and innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Over the past ten years, Six different conferences have been held to discuss the most critical challenges facing our region and the world.. Starting from Al Sharq Youth 1st International Conference in 2012 and passing through the Engaging the Future Conference in 2015. A New Era Conference in 2016, Embracing the Future Conference in 2017, Own Your Future Conference in 2019, and arriving at Unleashing Potentials in 2022.

This year’s conference is expected to bring together 1500 young leaders, scholars, and activists from 50 countries, alongside 60 experts and decision-makers, who will engage in productive discussions and collaborative efforts towards a better future for the Al Sharq region and beyond.
