Al Sharq Youth is a network of committed and active youth, leading change towards a more inclusive and just world.

The network emerged under the wing of the Al Sharq Forum, an independent, international non-profit organization that aims at consolidating the values of pluralism and justice, while developing long-term strategies and programmes that contribute to the political development, economic prosperity, and social cohesion for the people of the Al Sharq region and the world.

Al Sharq Youth shares the mission of its umbrella organisation; Al Sharq Forum, which aims to consolidate the values of pluralism and justice, while developing long-term strategies and programs that contribute to the political development, economic prosperity, and social cohesion of the people of the Al Sharq region and the world.

Our world today faces major global challenges, from climate change to economic and social inequalities. And yet, our global conversations around these challenges is seemingly more polarized and fractured than ever. At this critical juncture in history, Al Sharq Youth has three main programs: Al Sharq Diwan, the Fellowship Program and the Impact Platform. Individually, these programs are designed to realize specific objectives, and when collectively combined, provide a holistic experience for the network’s members. Each program feeds into the other, enabling a synergy towards creating an inclusive vision, empowered leadership, and informed action.

Al Sharq Diwan: A space for engaging in depth with ideas shaping the world around us. Al Sharq Youth’s intellectual space for transformative ideas.

Al Sharq Fellowship Program: An integrated and holistic program that empowers change-agents with tools and resources to lead change.

Al Sharq Impact Platform: An action-oriented platform supporting civil society-focused initiatives and projects.

Our local networks [Hubs] are the beating hearts of the network. The Hubs are a group of local networks led by respective catalysts based in 7 regions across the globe. The most active and influential youth in every community are selected from these local networks in different countries to participate and lead the international events and programs of the network.

The international conference is the flagship event of Al Sharq Youth, where all the network’s initiatives and projects are showcased.

Most of Al Sharq events and activities are free of charge; however, this might vary in exceptional cases.

There is no ideology the network adapts, although the network bears certain principles and values that proclaim diversity, political stability and economic prosperity for Al Sharq region.

Al Sharq Youth relies on different sources of funds, this includes:

– Project-based funds: The network seeks sponsorship from both private and public sectors for its activities/programs that are organized on local, regional or international level. These funds
are not limited to monetary support but also in-kind support.

– Partnerships: Our network conducts a number of its events in partnership with significant organizations who sponsor those events.

– Paid Events: Some of our events are covered through the fee of participation (e.g. The Annual Conference).

– Donations: A number of philanthropist businessmen who share our values and vision, provide non-conditional contributions to the network.
