In collaboration with Al Jazeera Balkans and the International University of Sarajevo, Al Sharq Youth Bosnia Hub organized the ‘Media Training Program’ in the capital Sarajevo. The intensive program hosted Harun Karčić, Al Jazeera Balkans producer and presenter, Arduana Pribinja, Al Jazeera Balkans senior journalist, and Nađa Lutvikadić-Fočo, Public Relations expert. The event included lectures on basic communication techniques, TV interviews analysis and the major trends in the international media.
“The Influence of Social Media on the Human Soul” | Amman
Amman Hub organized a discussion panel titled “The Influence of Social Media on the Human Soul” with Dr. Hammam Yahya, a Psychiatrist and a researcher in philosophy and Islamic disputes. The panel that was held in the Jordanian capital tackled the psychological, social and intellectual effects of social networking sites in terms of the impact on individuals and communities.
Fifth Youth Leadership Forum | Istanbul
Our members, Mubarak Noor, Vicdan Brouk and İpek Zeyn Kamil, won the network’s opportunity to attend the Fifth Youth Leadership Forum organized by the International Academy of Leadership and Development in Istanbul. The capacity building program that was held under the theme “Move Locally… Think Globally”, offered a wide range of courses, lectures and interactive workshops to the attending youth.

Youth and the Question of Community Engagement | Rabat
Rabat Hub organized the first meeting of its cultural meetings series under the title “Youth and the Question of Community Engagement”. The meeting was concluded with an Iftar dinner that aimed at representing an opportunity for further acquaintance and exchange of ideas and perceptions between the current members and the newly joined members of the hub.
Career Fest | Istanbul
Istanbul hub joined Istanbul Şehir University ‘Career Fest’, which took place at the university’s Dragos Campus, in Istanbul. The ‘Career Fest’ aims to bring companies and organizations from different sectors to meet the university students and introduce them to internship and career opportunities.
“The Role of Innovation in the Resolution of Humanitarian Crises” Competition | Paris
Paris Hub in association with Volunteers for Humanity NGO held its event “The Role of Innovation in the Resolution of Humanitarian Crises” in Paris, France. The event’s main aim is to be a platform for young people to present their projects and compete to serve their communities. The first prize winner is Muhammad Abu Matar from Gaza, on his project Tashkeel3D, a startup that works on the manufacture of medical tools for suffering and war countries. Abu Matar is to fly to Kuala Lumpur, to pitch his project along with other projects at Al Sharq Youth Fifth

Teaching Palestine: Pedagogical Praxis and Indivisibility of Justice” | Johannesburg
As part of the network’s Opportunities Program, our members, Zahra Omar and Abdulaziz Abubakr from South Africa hub, won the network’s opportunity to participate in the “Teaching Palestine: Pedagogical Praxis and Indivisibility of Justice” conference organized by the Afro-Middle East Center in Johannesburg. The 2- day event tackled the case of Palestine as a justice issue in examining the tensions and contradictions of the academy and the community dialectic, bringing up questions on social movements and intellectual inquiry.
‘La Révolution Est Là’ film screening & discussion | Tunis
In collaboration with Youth & Skills Association Bizerta and the electronic magazine ‘Tunisia Review’, Al Sharq Youth Tunis Hub organized a film screening and discussion entitled ‘La Révolution Est Là’ with the attendance of the film director, Taycir bin Naser. The film presents a number of viewpoints related to the owners of successful initiatives of the revolution and their futuristic vision.
