Al Sharq Forum launched its Kuala Lumpur office in Malaysia with the attendance of Wadah Khanfar, President of Al Sharq Forum and Saifuddin Nasution, Malaysian Minister of Domestic Trade, along with 140 leaders and significant Malaysian figures. During his speech, Khanfar stated that the country’s legacy of tolerance, diversity and coexistence serves as an inspiration to Al Sharq Forum whose mission is to develop long-term strategies that ensure the political development, social justice and economic prosperity of the world.
Orientation Session | Rabat
Rabat hub held an orientation session to the new members who joined it recently. During the active session, Al Sharq Youth 2019 vision and goals were discussed with the members in order to create and develop sustainable projects in the region.

Hub Launch | Algeria
Al Sharq Youth is happy to announce the launch of its hub in Algeria with a unique team made of distinctive youth. During the launch, the network’s values, programs and future prospects were introduced to the attending members.
“Crash course on Economy” | Bosnia
Bosnia hub organized an event titled “Crash course on Economy” in the capital Sarajevo. The course hosted Admir Čavalić, Director of ‘Multi’ association and one of the leading economic experts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The interactive event aimed to explain the main economic theories, processes and phenomena from an academic perspective, in addition to motivating the participants to engage in entrepreneurship projects in Bosnia.
AINAC 2018 – Challenge Arabia| RABAT
As part of the network’s Opportunities Program, our member Mohammed Abu Matar from Gaza won the network’s opportunity to participate in the Arab Network for Innovation’s conference (AINAC 2018 – Challenge Arabia) and won the first place in the category of Innovative Space. Mohammed is the owner of a start-up company in the field of industrial modeling and 3D printing, the start-up works on the manufacture of medical tools and equipment for suffering and war countries.
“Distinguished People Talk to You: A Platform for Outstanding Entrepreneurs in Mauritania” | Nouakchott
Nouakchott hub hosted a round table entitled “Distinguished People Talk to You: A Platform for Outstanding Entrepreneurs in Mauritania”. The interactive event that was attended by about 50 youth, mostly young entrepreneurs, was an opportunity to enrich the debate on the successes and obstacles facing young entrepreneurship in Mauritania and to discuss the future economic shift of Mauritania by the year 2021. In addition, some success stories of projects in Mauritania were presented during the event.

“The Hackathon on Terrorism Discourse: From Arab Spring to Today” | Istanbul
Al Sharq Youth Network held its 8th Regional Event this year “The Hackathon on Terrorism Discourse: From Arab Spring to Today” in Istanbul, Turkey. The event hosted a number of distinguished speakers including Ahmet Al Burai, Editor at TRT WORLD channel, Yusuf Özhan, Journalist at the same Turkish channel and Dr. Hüseyin Alptekin, lecturer at Istanbul Şehir University & director at SETA research center. The hackathon aimed to collect data on how the media outlets in the MENA Region reflected the terrorism discourse, from the Arab spring until today.
‘Europe and its Neighbourhood 2018’ Conference| London
Members of London Hub attended the ‘Europe and its Neighbourhood 2018’ Conference organized by the Chatham House in partnership with Al Sharq Forum, the International Crisis Group and Institut Montaigne. The conference brought together politicians, researchers, and NGOs to explore how European countries can promote stability both at home and abroad.

Rabat Hub organized an event on “Creating Entrepreneurial Spirit and the Available Support Resources”, in partnership with ‘Khouribga Skills’ incubator center. In line with the ASY Ignite Circle’s mission, the event aims to encourage youth to generate ideas and projects to contribute to their societies while directing them towards supportive institutions and organizations.
