Sarajevo Talks | Bosnia

Digital Media Forum “Journalism and Crossing to the Future” | Istanbul

As part of the Opportunities Program, Al Sharq Youth Network members attended the Digital Media Forum on “Journalism and Crossing to the Future” organized by the Al Jazeera Media Institute in Istanbul, Turkey. The event aimed to create a space for dialogue between the Arab youth about the future of media and to highlight the modern trends and their application in the field of journalism.

AL SHARQ YOUTH | OCTOBER 26, 2018

Al Sharq Youth Network signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Startup Festival platform at a ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As part of the MoU, World Startup Festival will be one of Al Sharq Youth’s main partners for the upcoming Al Sharq Youth Annual Conference that shall be held next April in Kuala Lumpur.

“Al Sharq Initiatives Camp.”| Amman

Amman Hub held its 2nd regional event this year under the title “Al Sharq Initiatives Camp.” The 3-day camp brought together innovative youth from various backgrounds to shed light on their hidden potential and utilize it to find feasible solutions to significant challenges that were presented during the event. 5T8A0826 1

“European Economic Policy Forum – Trends and Strategy of the European Business” Conference | Italy

The Opportunities Program Coordinator of Italy Hub, Khalil Mujahed, attended the “European Economic Policy Forum – Trends and Strategy of the European Business” conference held in the European Parliament. The conference aimed to create a high profile forum for discussion regarding the current economic and industrial outlook in the EU, gathering European policy makers and leading business associations including Confindustria and German BDI.

“The Land Debate” | Cape Town

In partnership with the Amnesty International, South Africa Hub organized their soapbox event on “The Land Debate” in Cape Town, South Africa with the participation of youth from various backgrounds. The thought provoking event addressed various topics on land including the difference between land restitution, redistribution and land tenure, land expropriation and the relationship between land and dignity.

“European Know-How Transfer” Program | Brussels

As part of Al Sharq Opportunities Program, Fatima En-Nehary, France Hub Coordinator, attended the “European Know-How Transfer” program which was organized by Junior Chamber International and held in Brussels, Belgium. During the unique event, our member had the opportunity to participate in the workshops on the functions of the EU institutions and the panel discussion on the topic of “Young Leaders Shape the Future of Europe.”

‘Eureka: The Borders of Europe’ | Italy

Three members from Italy Hub participated in the two-day program entitled ‘Eureka: The Borders of Europe’ which was organized by the Italian Brainstorm Association in the town of Manerba del Garda in Italy. Hosting researchers, professors, lawyers and journalists among its speakers, the program addressed various issues on the future of Europe including security and defense, migration, the phenomenon of “fake news” and journalism in the conflict driven areas.

“The Role of Festivals in Consolidating Heritage and Radiating the Cultural Heritage of Ancient Cities”| Rabat

In parallel with the “Abujaad Festival of Ancient Heritage” the Rabat Hub’s Mosaic Circle organized an event on “The Role of Festivals in Consolidating Heritage and Radiating the Cultural Heritage of Ancient Cities.” The event which is held every year for decades in the city of Abujaad, Morocco, aimed at creating awareness among young people to actively participate in the celebration of ancient cities’ heritage and to preserve this tradition throughout generations, thus promoting the cultural and artistic heritage of the ancient cities.
