The Fellowship Support Stream offers a transformative journey, empowering participants with invaluable knowledge and perspectives. It provides participants with exclusive access to a global network, expert mentorship, and world-class training to help them develop leadership mindsets, strategic capabilities, and collaborative potential to address today’s most pressing challenges.

The stream fosters a deeper understanding of global dynamics and equips them with essential skills to advance the vision and initiatives of their respective Al Sharq Youth Hubs. Fellows engage with thought leaders from diverse backgrounds, broadening their mindsets and perspectives, while collaborating with Hub members worldwide. Together, they build a collective vision and foster meaningful discourse to drive positive change on a global scale.

ABOUT AL SHARQ YOUTH

Al Sharq Youth is a global youth network bringing together changemakers through localized hubs in cities across the world. The Network Members are powered by three distinct Support Streams:

  1. Fellowship Support Stream: Focuses on leadership mindset development through global learning experiences and knowledge-sharing sessions with thought leaders.

  2. Impact Support Stream: Equips participants with tools to design community-centric, sustainable initiatives and transform ideas into action.

  3. Community Development Support Stream: Centers on community development, empowering members to engage and mobilize their communities toward global change.


Together, these streams form a cohesive structure that enables hub members to lead transformative initiatives and foster collaboration across the Al Sharq network.

Roles and Responsibilities

As the Fellowship Lead, you will spearhead the design, delivery, and success of the Fellowship Support Stream within the Al Sharq Hubs framework. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Program Leadership:
    • Lead the Fellowship Support Stream by designing its content, activities, and overall trajectory.
    • Develop and curate learning materials, facilitate training sessions, and coordinate with global mentors and trainers.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Hub Core Teams and volunteers to ensure seamless program integration within the Hubs.
    • Collaborate with leads of other Support Streams to align initiatives and maximize collective impact.
  • Event Coordination:
    • Plan and execute virtual and in-person events, including workshops, training sessions.
    • Collaborate with the Core Team to coordinate and implement aspects of the international conference and network retreat, ensuring their successful execution.
  • Alumni Engagement:
    • Cultivate and maintain a network of alumni to sustain long-term engagement and mentorship.
  • Impact Measurement:
    • Assess the effectiveness of Fellowship initiatives, providing reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Candidate Must-Have

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in fields related to leadership development, education, organizational management, public policy, social sciences, or other disciplines relevant to youth engagement.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of project management experience.
    • Proven track record in designing and delivering leadership development programs and capacity-building initiatives.
    • Experience in youth civic engagement and community leadership.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong initiative, creativity, and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
    • Familiarity with Al Sharq Forum principles and values.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Fluency in English is required.
    • Fluency in Arabic or other languages is an advantage.
  • Other Requirements:
    • A valid passport and flexibility for travel.

Administration

  • Location: Based in Istanbul, Turkey, with potential for remote work for exceptional candidates.
  • Working Hours: Average of 40 hours per week, with flexible arrangements possible.
  • Travel: Some travel is required as part of the role
