I started my first voluntary work experience with Al Sharq Youth Network as Performance and Success at Khartoum Hub, and since that time I am continuing this experience to contribute in making positive change in my community with the same network.

My name is Ahmed, and I’m an undergraduate student. I study civil engineering here in Sudan. Throughout my study at the university, I have acquired solid theoretical knowledge and been through professional practical training. Moreover, I have attended numerous social events such as seminars, discussions and debates and I have been an active member in some of them. I have participated as well in a wide set of fields that concern sustainable development, education and civil society. As someone who believes that communities can only be developed by the active participation of their own members, especially youth, I have been volunteering for community development for over 4 years, and have worked in a number of community and NGOs since then.My involvement with Youth Rescue Organization is what I consider the start of my contribution to improving my community, since I helped the organization implement various projects focused on poverty eradication.During the year of 2019, I was committed to working with NEF Sudan NGO on various activities aimed at building the capacity of youth in the sciences and technology.
As of the end of 2019, I had received the prize for achieving the second place in the climathon competition for the project that I worked on with my team which addresses environmental issues in Sudan.The year 2020 marked the turning point in my volunteering journey, since I was able to join three
major organizations, which I am still working with to improve my community. I first joined a group entitled “Angrib Shabal” which focuses on
community issues through art.In addition, I have been elected to serve on the Sudan Youth Parliament’s water-related committee. And last, I have joined the project team of Al Sharq Youth’s Khartoum hub.
